There are moments in life where we feel stuck, unable to move, and where we get caught in mud.
Moments when we are rendered unable to come to clarity, or discern which way we should go.
In these moments and movements (or lack of movement) it becomes even more important to hit the page, and begin to allow ourselves to listen to our inner knowing and wisdom.
The TRUTH IS — no one knows your highest good, or truth but YOU (& God, of course) . Sometimes, we lose trust, in our own voice, in our own knowing.
We may listen to the voices of others, even those we love, or leaders, or those who stand as authorities figures in our lives or on a grander scale or perspective.
Yes, while it is important or good to gather trusted advisors in ours lives, friends or elders, if we are lucky even to have them— at the end of the day, this is not only your journey, your “one wild and precious life” as Bishop says, but also of upmost importance and often neglected is the ability to hear your own voice, and to allow ourselves to sit with this voice and within this knowing.
Some may call it intuition; others the higher self— maybe, even the God voice within.
Either way, and yes, there are ways of discerning from where you are writing from, it is essential to create space to look, and listen within.
Knowing that your TRUTH will always show up on the page.
Allow your words to become your atlas, as you write you allow yourself to tap into your inner compass, and this is a nagivational tool that no guru, no prophet, no leader, and not even your mother can give you access to.
A phrase that has come in of late is to Write yourself forward. This phrase came in from my own navigiational tool— opening my Akashic Records, meditating and writing in my journal.
Of all the years I have been hitting the page to listen, to discern, to process, to gain clarity, this phrase has never shown up until now. A wonder—really, as I have been writing diligently for over 30 years.
I will say that I began to write this blog post, before I listened to my own internal guidance system (IGS), and went right into writing for others. I was reminded by a writer friend, that this wisdom came in for me first, and that I was to return to the page, to uncover my own truth, and of course, write to heal, and hear my own voice.
I shifted, and paused this blog to unearth. What I wrote was a long passage & personal essay on the passing of my brother who transitioned in June.
I was so grateful to be redirected back towards my own advice; that is my own writing, my own voice, my own truth.
Imagine that, another writer, reminding me the Transformational Writing Guide, to write to transform.
WHAT DOES IS MEAN: WRITE YOURSELF FOWARD?
Writing Yourself Forward Is A Way To find movement again
Fear, anxiety, indecision, and new choices might contribute to a freeze state.
Understand that to trust the heart, is to trust the self, and is a way to begin to move forward.
When you learn to tap in and write from your heart, the highest truth of your truth will pour forth.
Sometimes the heart may feel hard to access. There are many pathways to connect to the heart.
Sometimes it might sound frightening to actually listen to what you have to say, or what the heart knows.
Often we lose sight or are not taught to trust the self. We are often misdirected to listen to others. The heart that knows thyself, is the heart that lives through it’s own restoration.
Trust that the heart is the pathway to God, and the pathway to God is the pathway to self.
There are many parts of self to be found, located and reclaimed.
If you are on a journey of healing, self-discovery, or transformation, and if you are a writer or all of the above, take strength in the sense that your heart knows the way forward.
Allow the parts of you that need reclaiming, or visitation to show up on the page.
Even the messy parts. The fragments. The false starts , the conversation with self, or the bad sentences that just don’t make sense. All of it is ok on the page. Let the editor go. Let the judgement go. Simply be & reclaim.
Reclaiming Parts of Yourself
In all aspects of self, we have parts. If you hear yourself as saying: part of me thinks, part of me feels… you are identifying parts.
We need to be with these parts, and tend to them, and love all of them.
Each part has something to show you, teach you, and often needs to be healed and integrated.
There may be a part of you that is holding fear, another may be invigorated, another part may be the protector.
Soul aspects, or soul fragments may be asking to be reclaimed or called back. We can go in through writing to access these parts, when we allow ourselves to be with them on the page.
Sometimes these parts want to be in conversation with each other. This can be done on the page as well.
There may be an aspect of self that is asking to reconciled, forgiven, adored, cherished or loved.
Your inner child might be calling out to you, and asking you to address him or her on the page.
Imagine that. Imagine the love that can pour forth if you were to give you inner child attention, and write a poem for or with him/ or her.
The Recall:
Memory In motion
The recall is bringing memory forward. Not always is the recall gentle, it can be coarse, or a flashback, or moment of grief that takes us over and comes fluttering in.
The Recall can, and often is jarring. This is ok. This is a part of it, the work that is.
Memory can be worked with through energy healing, and this can come in tandem with the writing work. This is in part what my sessions infuse, and unfold.
For now, you are simply to be, and allow parts of you to arrive. Gather them amonst your pages. Be present.
If you are interested in going deeper into The Recall work, and adhering to the practice of writing to heal in combination with energy heal do reach out, or consider booking a Transformational Writing Session with me. Here we can go deeper into these proccess, and you will be able to sit in a one-on-one healing writing session with me.
POSE QUESTIONS:
Pose open ended questions, take a breath, and allow the writing to come out, unfiltered.
- What am I to do?
- Where am I in my life right now?
- What is the next right step for me to take?
- Is there anything I need to know?
- What am I not seeing, noticing or aware that would help me move in the highest potential outcome, in alignment of my highest path.
Allow the answers to arrive, unfiltered.
That’s right we are going to write raw. Meaning we are going to allow all of ourselves to show up on the page,
And we are going to go deep and seek wisdom.
ALLOW A PHRASE TO COME IN:
When you hear a phrase or notice something that is felt in the body, notice this. Write it down. Relaim this, interact with it, and integrate it through writing.
This could be a song lyric. Something you have overheard, a quote in a book or on instagram.
Be present and aware. Claim the space to tune into your heart, and write from the phrase.
Allow your truth to lead you on the page.
SET INTENTIONS
Be sure to set intentions for your writing. Setting an intention realigns the energy, and redirects the mind, body and spirit to be in a more open field around what your intention is.
STAY CURIOUS:
STAY CURIOUS:
Be an observer of the self as you write. There are many perspectives through which we can view from.
Most importantly— is that you can write the future.
Writing the edge of the field. Is another way of sensing into this… (more on this, and writing the future another time…another post.)
