WHAT IS A NEW SUPER MOON?
May 16th marks this year’s first new Supermoon, one of five that will occur in 2026. A New Supermoon is when the moon is closest to the earth. Another word for this is perigee, as opposed to a apogee, when the moon is furthest from the earth. However, despite being so close, this moon won’t be visible. Though, it surely will be felt vibrationally.Â

The New moon in Taurus hits Saturday, May 16th at 4:01 pm EDT. You may already be feeling the shifts coming in, and shaking things up for you. But, don’t worry, this will settle down into a grounding energy if you work it, and are intentional about how you integrate this energy, and the lessons it is bringing forth for you.
Taurus wants stability. Taurus, the bull, and an earth sign, rules the material. Think physical (cue The Police “We are spirits in the material world”). Taurus rules over money, possessions, comfort and food.Â
This new moon is an opportunity to sit with the material of your life. Think construction, building, hammer and nails. Consider what you are building, how you are creating abundance. It’s time get into the scaffolding here.
Sit with your routines, your business plan, the ways you take care of your body, the things of your home.Â
 What can use adjusting? What does your self-care look like?Â
How are you supporting your temple? What structures can you put in place to support you, and finalize the pieces to ground you into moving forward into expansion?

Taurus asks for consistency for you to show up, again and again. Consider that even in micro movements, when accumulated in the right direction, with the right energy and intention, can and do move mountains.
Taurus is asking that you create a foundation for sustainable growth. What does that look like for you in finances, for your body, for you spiritual growth?Â
Take this time to slow down. Think intentionally about how you can begin to build something sustainable, something that can endure.
Organize finances and set goals. What are you building for the future. What can use revamping? The energy arriving is here to help you plant seeds of abundance in all areas of your life. Algol, known as the Demon Star or head of the ogre, is rearing it’s head to break through the old, to the new. Algol symbolizes the head of Medusa in Greek Myths. Medusa’s head was used by Perseus to turn Cetus, a sea monster, to stone. Algol can be found in the constellation of Perseus, shining amongst the blackened skies.Â

Uranus In Gemini
Uranus has been in Taurus since November 7th, and left April 25th, to enter Gemini. Uranus won’t return to Taurus for over 80 years. Uranus’s time in Taurus shook things up, bringing disruption on the collective, and individual level, exposing truths, systematic issues, and bringing required and necessary changes to the forefront.Â
The May New Supermoon In Taurus edges the shift of Uranus out of Taurus activating completion of the Uranus activation and work for the past 7 years. Â
While tensions or opposing forces arise with the stability of Taurus, and the rebellion of Uranus to break patterns, together there is an opportunity and energetic potential for these two forces to work together and bring break throughs.Â
Be intentional around breaking patterns, standing in and creating independence.
Be mindful of finances, self-worth, and security.Â
As mentioned above, consider a review of the scaffolding. What can stay? What can go? How can you update your own energetic, and physical structures in ways that bear down on your independence , and the value you hold for yourself?Â

On top of the stability, and consistency of Taurus, the Death Star, Algol, the churning of the Sacred Wild Fire Feminine, and Uranus shifting into Gemini, this New Moon is aligned with Mercury, the planet of communication.Â
Time for tough talks, even if with yourself, your writing, and when ready — with others.Â
What’s key is here is patience, poise, and practice.Â
If you are in need of having a tough conversation, prepare first. Go slow. Write it out first then see how it flows.Â
